Your mom seems really, really nervous about this year’s Holiday party. It’s not like your mom and dad don’t do this every year, but this year dad’s new boss is coming and he’s all nervous, so she’s all nervous, and she’s asking you what she should wear. I mean, you think she looks amazing in everything, but this dress she has picked out is something else. She looks amazing! You, of course, stay in your room during the party, avoiding all the cheek pinching and “my haven’t you grown” commentary, but your mom finds her way into your room tonight, under the guise of “checking in” but you can tell somethings wrong. She won’t tell you at first, but you finally get it out of her that she caught dad getting extra cozy under the mistletoe with his new boss. You can’t believe him! With a gorgeous wife waiting at home? You blurt this last bit out loud, before you can stop yourself, and your mother blushes, telling you not to get too upset, that this is just how guys are when their wives get older
